The Art of Lithography
Lithography as an artform involves a process of printing from a flat stone onto paper. The design is drawn in reverse on the surface of the stone with a greasy crayon, then water and printing ink are applied. The ink is absorbed and the water is repelled. The paper and stone are passed through a printing press. Each lithograph is signed by the artist. Editions are usually limited to about 200 prints.
